Week 2 and 105 minutes of meditation - donezo! How'd you do?

I learned a few things about myself during this last week. The first is that sitting still for a specified amount of time is HARD. And quieting my thoughts is even harder. I also learned that because this is something I struggle with so much, it's probably something that I should continue to work on. Regular meditation and mindfulness are so good for our minds.

Full disclosure, this blog post took a lot longer to write than usual. The last couple of days I've just felt very uninspired. I contribute it to a little too much screen time and not enough movement. Things that usually don't bother me have gotten on my last nerve lately and I felt like I was starting to be a little grouchy toward people. So I'm leaning in to that observation and want to correct it as we move in to week 3.

Let me first preface this by saying that I will probably regret what I've chosen for this week... It's cold and I have checked the forecast multiple times while asking myself if I'm sure about this. But again, the Thrive Project is meant to show that we can do hard things! So, for week 3, we'll be spending 20 minutes per day outside. I plan to use this time to walk and listen to a podcast before I start my day. I feel my best when I'm filling my mind with positive things and by adding that movement, I just think it'll be a great overall experience. I was also going to say that vitamin D is something that is a benefit from this time outside, but I just looked out the living room window and see that there is absolutely no sunshine... not surprising for a January day in the midwest.

I'm going to keep this one short and sweet and hope that you'll challenge yourself with this one, too! Have the best week!

xo.
